Careers Guidance

At New Perspectives School, we recognize the importance of preparing our students for their future careers. Our Careers Guidance program is designed to provide students with the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to make informed decisions about their future pathways. We are committed to helping each student explore their interests and talents, understand the wide range of career options available, and develop the skills necessary for success in the world of work.

Personalised Career Planning:
Every pupil receives one-to-one career counselling sessions from the Birmingham City Council Careers Service, where pupils can explore their interests, strengths, and aspirations. The career advisor works closely with students to create personalised career plans that align with their goals, whether they are considering further education, vocational training, or entering the workforce directly after Year 11.

Work Experience Opportunities:

Gaining real-world experience is a crucial part of career preparation. We facilitate work experience placements for our students, giving them the opportunity to explore different career fields, develop practical skills, and gain insights into the working environment. These placements are tailored to match pupils' interests.

At New Perspectives School, our Careers Guidance is an integral part of our commitment to helping students achieve their full potential. We strive to ensure that every student leaves our school with a clear vision for their future and the confidence to pursue their chosen career path. To support this every pupil in Key Stage 4 has a timetabled careers lesson in which they explore careers, career pathways, colleges and apprentice opportunities. We support in writing CV's, completing applications, personal statements and practice interview techniques.
