Year 11 Examination Results 2025

Year 11 Examination Results 2025

I am pleased to be able to share the New Perspectives examinations results for 2025.

Five pupils were entered for examinations, of which:

  • One pupil joined New Perspectives School after being out of school for some time and with attendance of 4% at the last school he attended. Staff worked tirelessly to improve his attendance and attitude to learning, putting in extra support for examinations preparation after he struggled immensely during his mock examinations, and this resulted in regular attendance and achievement of GCSE Grade 2 in English, Grade 1 in Maths and Grade 1 in Entry Level Science.

  • One pupil who was in residential care,  arrived in January after being out of school for some time. He started well at the school, but unfortunately, following some external issues, his  attendance and attitude to learning declined. With support from staff, he reengaged into learning and achieved GCSE Grade 3 in English, Grade 2 in Maths and a Grade 2 in Biology.

  • One pupil had been out of education for 9 months before starting at New Perspectives School and it took time for him to settle. He was adamant that he would not be sitting examinations and staff worked with him and parents to support him. English is not his first language but he achieved a GCSE Grade 2 in English Language, Grade 1 in Maths and Grade 2 Entry Level Science.

  • One pupil who struggled to attend, however he managed to sit his GCSE English examination and achieve a GCSE Grade 1.

  • One pupil, who even with support, failed to attend examinations due to external issues as he was in assisted living and struggling with his mental health and wellbeing.

We are extremely proud of our pupils who sat their GCSEs in June 2024, who having been out of school for long periods of time, applied themselves and gained GCSE's in English and Maths. All pupils made progress from their baseline grades.

Three pupils sat examinations, of which:

  • one arrived in late November after being out of school for three years. He started well at the school, but unfortunately, following some issues with family and police, his  attendance and attitude to learning declined. With support from staff, he reengaged into learning and achieved a Grade 3 in English and a Grade 2 in Maths. He also sat Functional Skills Maths and English and achieved a Level 1 Merit in both.

  •  one was only on site from October to December due to safeguarding concerns and had a bespoke package of learning put in place to support which included Blue Whale Digital Media, remote English and Maths lessons from the school and external tutor. They absconded from the care home for a week and so missed the last English and Maths exams. A special consideration application was sent to both examination boards and accepted, they achieved a Grade 3 GCSE in both Maths and English.

  • One had high anxiety and parents felt that they were not ready to sit any examinations, with lots of encouragement, support and revision, they were able to sit their Maths GCSE and achieved a Grade 4.
